You’re probably thinking what the fuck Maiah. You bought a website domain? You made a whole website? Now you’re starting a “Social Club” as a crazy, lazy, neurodivergent, anti-social person? because you had a couple of craft nights and parties?

Welcome to Mai Haus. Your favorite and probably only social club.
At Mai Haus,
I promise to create and preserve a creative, safe, caring, and fun environment for those of all cultures and walks of life. There are not many third spaces for us young folk anymore. We can’t afford to go out for dinner or drinks, go to the movies, fuck we can’t even afford the gas it takes to drive to the mall and back. There’s not many places that are fun and safe anymore. I want to change that for us.
I know first hand and by observation of others how it is to feel like you are on the outside. I want a space that feels like coming indoors after a cold winter day. That is what I am aiming to do. And I promise you friends, no matter where we are in life, you will always have a seat at my table and a place in my home.
Let’s build a community, together. I can’t do this alone.
As a trained anthropologist, I have been taught to appreciate, celebrate, and maintain culture. I personally believe that is my life’s journey. That is what I am meant to do. That is what I will do. I invite you friends to join me on this mission to create a safe space here in Buffalo for women of various backgrounds.
I would like to build a community here. Not just a community, but a family and a home. A good friend recently just spoke to me about the importance of chosen family, a concept I have always mentally entertained, but never truly considered until recently. Now, I am not asking you for your hand in marriage (although I would definitely say yes), but I am asking you for your thoughts, creativity, occasional presence (whether that be physical or otherwise), and time. To me, those are the most valuable resources in the world.
